It was a magical afternoon. Susannah, her mom and I spent the day in wonderful places taking pictures and just hanging out together. We started in a lovely location she had picked out and ended in downtown Grapevine and we enjoyed every moment of this sunny and breezy day. I hope they enjoy their photos as much as I have enjoyed working with them. I’m only part way through them and already I had a hard time choosing which ones to show as their first glimpse of the session.

Just a day in the park for these 3 beautiful children. A few weeks have past since I had the pleasure of photographing this family and as i go back and look at them, their faces, the love they share, my heart melts a little bit. They are beautiful. They are sweet and loving. This family makes me smile – a lot.

The lovely spring colors make me happy and I thought it would be a perfect share for Easter. So, Happy Easter! Enjoy their video!

Happy Birthday Dorothy

It was a gorgeous backyard filled with family! All there to celebrate the 85th birthday of this lovely lady. The youngest member of the family was barely a week old. Such a precious little one. More from this family later, but wanted to get one up for them to preview before too much time passed! Thank you, Dorothy and family, for allowing me to help celebrate your special day!

These children were adorable! They have the sweetest spirits. The love they share is extraordinary. This is why I do what I do, to be able to witness families as they interact and spend time together playing and having fun. Much more to come about them after their session is delivered to them. Can’t wait!

I Heart Faces Black and White

I haven’t entered a photo in one of these challenges in a while. I need to motivate myself to shoot more for me. To challenge myself. So I decided to get involved again. This month the challenge is for a black and white. Here is my entry. A senior picture. Black and White was the prompt. Black and white it is.

I am in love with the photos from this session. I have a soft spot in my heart for the beautiful girl in them as well. I’ve know Alex for several years. I attend church with her family and they actually won this session in our Christmas Magic Auction where the youth of our church earn money to go on the annual summer mission trips. It was appropriate that they would be the recipient of the session. Alex was one of my roommates at the Olive Tree Village last summer when I was an adult sponsor of their trip to New Orleans to build houses in Katrina relief. So we knew each other and had spent a little time together prior to this session.

I really don’t know if that was why, but we just clicked and spent the afternoon chatting away and having a wonderful time in the fields, along the trails and at the lake. In other words, all my happy places.

Alex is contemplating leaving Texas to go away to college. She’s interested in studying Anthropology. She’s crazy smart. Absolutely beautiful and comfortable in her own skin. Incredible combination!
